International Conference
“The archive of future: cultural heritage and performing arts” is the final Conference of the project Genius Loci on Tuesday 4th May at h. 16 Italian time.
It will feature the following panel of speakers:
Tobias Biancone – Secretary General of the International Theater Institute UNESCO (France), Alberto Garcia Castano – Director of the Alicia Alonso Foundation of the University of Madrid ‘Rey Juan Carlos’ (Spain), Alessandro Isoni – Professor of History of Political Institutions, University of Salento (Italy), Kostas Kapodistrias – Artistic Director of Theatro Tsi Zakynthos (Greece), Roberta Quarta – Coordinator of Genius Loci project, Actress of Astràgali Teatro (Italy), Carlos Roldan – Professor of Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts, Alicia Alonso Foundation of University of Madrid ‘Rey Jaun Carlos’ (Spain), Fabio Tolledi – Artistic Director of Astràgali Teatro (Italy), Alina Ioana Vasiliu – Project Manager of the State Theater of Constanta (Romania).
The conference will deal with the project main topics. The performing arts are facing a terrible and extraordinary situation, in this context new forms must be elaborated. Cultural heritage needs to be redesigned, new models of use and re-elaboration can find enormous impetus. Heritage – tangible and intangible – can find an extraordinary form of re-elaboration in the performing arts. The digital age and the explosion of the use of the network in this difficult pandemic era puts us in front of the redefinition in the use of the performing arts archives as a powerful tool for global communities.
